Drive letter assignment gone weird
I have just built a new system with one DVD-R and one PATA HDD. I have created 2 partitions using Win XP setup CD prior to loading the system. The HDD is on primary controler and set as master and the optical drive on my secondary IDE controler. As far as I know regardles of the config the non HDD device should get its letter after all HDD partitions (including logical volumes).
My active partition is C as expected, optical drive has got "D" and my second logical partition letter E.
Any ideas what could be the reason of this strange setup.
Thanks
