Drive loss in a citrix ICA client world

By ian_munro ·
A recently implemented network, running a combination of Windows NT and Windows 2000 servers, and running a farm of terminal servers running Citrix 1.8. There is a frequent condition experienced by many of the 300 machines on the network. This is where their mapping to a network drive mysteriously disappears.
Does anybody recognise this? Any suggestions on cause?

We have the same experience on our network where we use the Citrix for CAD-workstations. I know of two work-arounds:
- in some applications (Word, excel, ect..., but not Lotus Notes) you can use the favorites-folders to map your network drives
- you can use the network neighborhood, but this can be very inconvenient, specialy if you have a large network.
