"Drive not ready"

By azbrushape ·
I am having trouble "reaching" a WD Enterprise WDE9100 ultra fast wide SCSI 3 HDD. It only returns the error msg, "drive not ready". What is wrong,(my fault?)? All pin connectors are properly placed, I believe, altho I do NOT have a pin connections read-out. It is one of two I recently received, and after buying a new controllor card, the other is operating normally.
can anyone suggest an answer? thanks.

Has the drive ever been able to be read? It's possible your drive was bad from the start.

I agree. The drive has run VERY hot. The same procedures were used to put both the drives in service, but this one did not come up.
