I have a machine running win XP Pro with 2 250GB drives. its acting strangely, and windows :my computer shows the drives as 250MB instead of 250GB. Disk management under computer management lists the proper size. Dell diags say the drives are good, and no viruses detected. using either SOPHOS(installed) or Mcafee Stinger. I am going to burn it down and rebuild, but would sure like to know what's going on with it.

You said "its acting strangely, and windows :my computer shows the drives as 250MB instead of 250GB" - so, apart from the HDD misread sizes, HOW is it acting strangely?
How are they being read by the BIOS?
Have you run your anti-virus scans from SAFE MODE?
