Driver problems for scanner
first, the scanning software was not compatible with windows xp, which was not too much of a problem, because i could download the new software and drivers from the hp site. which i did. however, even after the intallation program reports that the usb drivers have been installed, windows knows nothing about it, and consequently i cannot use my scanner. i have contacted product support, and the only thing they can do is send me a cd (at extra cost), which has the precise software i had downloaded.
I have tried to run the windows hardware installation wizard, but even after trying to locate the driver myself, it does not recognise the either the .inf files as valid. The microsoft site reports that my scanner is compatible with windows xp.
Has anyone had similar problems? If so, I would be grateful for your advice.
