DSL USB Modem and Wirelss Routers

By dmeredith ·
I have been researching the capability to add a wireless network. I received an USB modem to connect to my DSL provider. I have seen the wireless routers for Cable/DSL connections for sharing of the connection, but none of them accept an USB input. Rather, they all expect an Ethernet input. Besides have to replace my modem is there product out there that will solve my needs? My backup plan is to create a router with Linux and then use a Wireless gateway to provide connectivity throughout the house.

Ideas?

DSL USB Modem and Wirelss Routers

by tjc In reply to DSL USB Modem and Wirelss ...

If you want to sahre your DSL line you will need to get a DSL modem that has an ethernet connection, I tried to share a usb dsl that was from AOL and they said that you can't share a USB DSL connection, and that I needed a DLS ethernet connection toa hub. Once I told my client this they went with some other company that had better dial up (www.stargate.com) that had dual locaion dial in with one account and such so never did get the whole thing figured out, go figure they didn't want me to spend more time on the project they just went with the fastest net connection, although I told them DSL was better.
