Dual Boot, Editing Boot.ini

Is it possible to configure a hard drive running WinME to a system already running WinXP? I’ve slaved the HDD running WinME on the same IDE Controller, (PRI). I’ve tried editing the boot.ini on the HDD running WinXP, (C:\Windows ME), but I do not get the Boot Loader Menu at startup! Do I need to also edit the MSDOS.SYS? Please advice, thank you!
