Just do it XP has no problems that I've found with doing a dual boot with 98,just make sure that you've placed 98 in its own partinition and this can be done without formatting. You probably going to have to use a boot up disk or third party software to do this.

You will need a third party software such as Partition Magic 7 or Partition Commander to perform the setup

The Windows XP file system setup will not allow you to load Windows 98se after XP install

Backup all data and then perform installationwith Windows 98se being first and then Windows XP

Soulrider is right. You can dual boot but xp must be istalled last. If possible back up all your data that cannot be reinstalled etc. Fdisk your hard drive and partition it as you want. Install win98 to disk d: then install XP to disk c: XP install recognises win 98 and gives you all the options to dual boot. Just follow the bouncing ball.
