Dual boot on notebook

by robert_n_wright . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

Hi,
I am in the process of preparing to replace my notebook harddrive. I have a new one connected via usb and want to partition it for both systems (windows xp and Ubuntu linux).

It is an 80 mb drive, and I’m sure I read somewhere the recommended partition breakdown to do a dual boot. One problem I have is that my NB is an IBM R40 with a some disk space reserved to hold the operating system install, and I’m not sure how get this from one drive to another or how much and what kind of partitioning it requires. Any suggestions will be appreciated
