Dual Boot PC

By nmcgill ·
I have a dual boot PC - Windows 95 & Win NT 4.0.

When I go to add a Local Printer on the Win NT boot, the choice for My Computer is dimmed. However, I can add a local printer on the Win 95 boot.

How can I add a local printer to Win NT in a dual boot environment??

Shot in the dark, here - are you logging into the NT4 boot with an account with administrative rights? Non-admin group accounts are only allowed to add network printers in NT4.

As dual boot is tricky , I suspect you have not totally isolated the boot , and have shared files, Partician Magic allows total isolation , and the printer is not shared , rather it is setup for each unique platform, if you have tried to setup the printer as a stand alone type in each app , and it won't allow it , the boots can "see" each other , and this is a situation that can lead to a major crash. There are several good boot controllers such as Particial Magic , easily aquired and generally reasonable
