dual login to nds and bindery

By rgarcia ·
I created a user's account on both servers 3.12,5.0, same user name and password, they authenticate to nds first, I need to login and run script to map drives for the 3.12, to have the shortcuts to programs in 3.12 , what do I need to do to be able to have the work station use resources on both servers?

dual login to nds and bindery

The next thing would be to make sure your user has rights to the file system resources on your 3x server. Using syscon, either add the user to existing group or give them individual rights. You assign rights to resources for the 5x server using NDS.
Then add the map commands to whatever NDS login script this user uses - Container or user script. For example, map f:=fs312/vol1:, or if login_name = "3xuser" then map f:=fs312/vol1:
You would map drives to the 5.0 file server in the same way.I am presuming the client is some version of windows greater than 3.51; and you're using an NDS aware novell client. In the client properties you set "Log into tree" and specify the appropriate tree and context. If you're still using NETX, you need to make other adjustments to the net.cfg file but I can't remember what that is right now.
This should be enough to get you started.
Oh - and convince management that you need to upgrade that 3x server!
