I have a Compaq 6715b laptop with an ATI Radeon X1250 video card. I’m having several issues.
First, is that I also use a dual monitor occasionally. Due to my desk configuration, I need the laptop on the right and the monitor on the left, which is contrary to the default settings. On my old laptop, I changed this on the settings tab in display properties, and the setting held, but this laptop will not hold the settings if I lock. When I unlock it, it flickers and re-sets back to the default.
Second, and related to the first… I’ve set my screen resolution to accomodate several of the applications that I use, specifically 1280×720 on the laptop. Again, when I lock the laptop, it may or may not reset the resolution to 1280 x 768. Sometimes it will spontaneously re-set itself when I’m in the middle of working in an app.
Third… About 1 in 5 times, if I lock the laptop and close the lid, it goes to some sort of hibernation mode. It’s on in that the lights are on, but no one’s home because the display is black and I can’t get it to come back on. I have to power off and power back on. My power settings are: Power scheme – Home/office, all of the rest are set to never turn anything off.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
