    Dual monitor-computer fails to boot after being shut off

    Hi,
    I have a Hanns-G LCD monitor hooked up with a Dell monitor on my computer. If I turn on the computer after its been off for some time, it starts booting and then hangs. The windowsXP processing bar stops moving. Sometimes I get a message that screen resolution should be 1280 X 1024. So everytime this happens I go to safe mode and change the resolution and restart the machine. It generally works the first time otherwise I have to repeat this till it boots. I can’t figure out what or where the problem is and why the change in resolution does not save for next time.
