Hello, my name is Shawn. Here is my system: AMD Quad-Core 2.6ghz black edition CPU Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+ Gigabyte GV-N94TOC-1GH Nvidia GeForce 9400GT 1024m 128-bit Gddr2 PCI-Express 2.0 x16 4g ddr2800 Vista Ultimate 64-Bit
here is the question: the video card can handle dual DVI-D. i have 2 monitors. one is 19" widescreen with the DVI-D, the other is 17" VGA-DVI-D. the 17" is my secondary monitor. When i start the computer in the mornings it takes about 20min to 2 hrs for the monitor to wake up. i have used the monitor as a primeary monitor for 2 yrs until u build this system and started using it as my second monitor.
i have the updated drivers.

i was gone today and i moved my mouse and my 19" (primeary) came on. but my 17" (secondary) is black and the pwer light is flashing. now it will take anyware form 20mins to 2 hrs to were i can use it. and see my desktop
Also some monitors do not come out of Power Saving correctly you need to switch them off and back on again. This is to do with the lack of a signal to wake them up after you return to the computer or it could be a damaged Video Lead where one of the 15 Wires has been broken internally. Look for kinks or signs of a bend in the lead and at the ends as this is where most problems occur.
in the past i ahve used the 17"monitor as my primary, and the leads are ok. once its on it works fine, i even turn the montior off for the night and it does still do the same.
i have anthoer computer, i connected it to that one this morning and it still is flashing the power light. i have used this monitor as a primary for 2 years before i build my new system.
There's a reason monitors usually have a 1 year warranty period. The reliability of the monitor after that length of time is questionable at best. And, after using it for 2 years previously, it's lived beyond it's expected life span.
If you've plugged that monitor into another computer and it's doing the same thing, that pretty well answers your question, doesn't it? The monitor is on it's way out.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
