Dual Network log-ins

By l.morris ·
I have a client who logs into a network at work, and another network at home. Both use differant configurations.

Is there a way to allow him to choose at bootup which network (and settings) he will be logging into to avoid having him manually change the configurations each time.

Exactly what settings are we talking about here? You can always try to copy the hardware profile in device manager. Then, setup one hw profile for one network and setup the second hw profile for the second network. windows will prompt you for which profile you want to use on bootup.

The IP addresses have to be different, along with two different log-in's to two differant servers, using a laptop. We are running Windows 98 SE on this latop

The person is logging into a network server at work. It has it's own IP and login.

Then the person goes to their home office. It has a totally differant IP address and login.

I want them to be able to choose on boot-up. I have tried to use the hardware profiles but if I change the IP address in one profile, it changes in the other.

Take a look at this handy little utility program. I think this could be just the thing your looking for. Let me know what you think about it as am testing it for other users I have.
