When I connect to the Internet using my 56 Kbps modem, I get a message as ‘Connected at 50,600 bps’ whereas the actual download/upload speeds rarely go above 4Kbps. Why is it so slow? What does than 50.6Kbps speed mean? Does that mean using the 14.4kbps modem and 56.6kbps modem is same.. as the download speed never goes above 4kps. (This question is really hogging my mind and I am unable to find the answer) Please help!
