Duplicate IP Addresses

By dona ·
I have installed a Windows 2000 Server as the domain controller on a LAN running Windows 95 and 98 Workstations. I have set up DHCP for addressing but from time to time the server assigns workstations its own IP address (192.168.0.1, thus of course conflicts. How do I eliminate this duplicate IP addressing?

How about either creating a reservation for the local NIC or editing the scope to not include the IP. Either should work to solve the problem

excluded that ip address 192.168.0.1 from the your ip scope. Reserve the entire range except what you are assigning. in the dhcp setting. Go into your wins server and delete any addresses that do not system correct , make sure youi have the static ip for your server there.
