Duplicate reports with interactivity

by boulderridge . Updated 21 years, 6 months ago

I am upgrading some custom reports that currently reside in Excel 2000. The functionality I want to preserve is for users to interact with a report once it is populated per their selections (row and filter options). They can view the default report counts and then with one click switch to row percents or rates, etc. They can also within the report do sorting and graphing with 2-3 clicks. This interactivity was the main reason for building in Excel to begin with, but now using a more efficient report writer (probably Crystal) is the priority. Any ideas on how to still make the users happy within a new environment? Database will be SQL Server 2000 and deployment will either be web-based or possibly thin client using Citrix or Terminal Services… Thanks!
