General discussion

I have used Memorex DVD's for my movies and never had a problem.
3 out of the last 5 movies I made would hang up and stop. They were made from one stack of DVD's that I bought. Backing up and fast fowarding would get past the "bad spot" so to speak. This is what I am asking or don't understand. With the high RPM's that these discs turn how could a manufacture brand of a DVD cause a disc to hang up?

The disk itself does not hang up.

What happens is that the data stream coming off of the disk contains "non-recoverable" errors. In the case of a movie, this causes the MPEG decoder to stop processing the data and the screen freezes.

Just like blank CDs, there are differences in the quality of blank DVDs.
Then, the manufactures change their process from time to time. This can cause a brand of disks that used to work to no longer function with your drive.

Contact the disk manufacture and see if they will refund or exchange the disks you have.

if you are saying you made the same movie on 5 dvd's and only 2 worked, yes, i would wonder about media quality given everything else hasn't changed...
otherwise, what has changed in your process? how big are the movies that fail?
