I have run across a situation where a DVD burner is used for backup purposes in a small business. They burn to a DVD-RW daily at noon and then also to a CD-R at the close of business each day. They use a fresh CD-R each day. They have done this for several months. However recently, the DVD burner will not recognize blank CD’s–a message is received to insert a CD while a CD is already in the burner. They have tried CD-R’s from 3 different sources. The burner WILL recognize and properly utilize the DVD-RW disks and will even play audio CD’s.
This situation has been reported to me by phone, so I do not have more information at hand. However, I will certainly appreciate help in approaching this problem. Thanks!
