The posts on this topic have not resolved my issue. I added a new HD to my PC and now my Secondary IDE controller has stopped working, i then slaved my old HD to my dvd on the Primary and added a Ritmo PCI card for the new Sata HD. everything works ok except for the DVD burner no longer functioning in UDMA mode. It will only function in PIO mode which is very slow. I have tried the editing the registry trick with the download i got from here and uninstalling the controller so it redetects it. This restores the ability to change it to ‘DMA if available’ but it will not detect any discs in this mode anymore. Can anyone help me resolve this before i buy a new Motherboard
