DVD/CD Problems

see the reading surface of the cd, many problems usually happens with the bad reading surface where there are many scratches.

if you cd is a good one then still not reading, then the problem lies in two ways
1. driver problem get a latest driverfrom manufacturers site, and install it.

2. if still you are getting the same problem, then the drive is faulty try to change it.

i hope this will solve your problem.

DVD/CD Problems

I have problems with some CDs in my desktop DVD drive.
In fact, I cannot copy CDs from the DVD drive to my CD-RW drive.
I solved the problem with a seperate CD drive. (not an option for you)

Like all multi-purpose PC technology, some older format media just doesn't work right.

I know this doesn't answer how to fix the problem. But I know it helps to know it's not just you.

I would contact Toshiba, and see if they have a "firmware" update to improve media compatability.
Perhaps, if you complain enough to them, they will swap out your drive.
