What exactly do you mean here?

Has the icon disappeared or the entire application?

If it is just the Icon it most likely is in a folder on the desktop called Unused Items or someone has deleted the shortcut to the exe file from the desktop.

If the latter is the case all you need do is open My Computer and go to where the decoder program is installed right click on the Icon for the application and chose create shortcut, when you get the second Icon in that window just left click on it and drag it to the Desktop and you'll have the Icon back on the desktop. If you like you can rename it by right clicking on the Icon and scrolling down to the Rename option and rename it to whatever you wish.

If the Icon is in the Unused Items Folder all you need do is open the folder and left click and drag it back onto the desktop.

If the icon is still there but no longer working something that you have done has disabled that app from running so take a look at any recently installed applications or Patches these could have corrupted the shortcut or even the application. Before uninstilling any new apps that you have installed you can try uninstilling the application in question rebooting the unit and reinstalling the app and then see if it works.

If it no longer works you'll have to do a bit of digging around first look to see if there is a newer version of the program available and use that if you can. If there isn't or you have to buy the new version you can uninstall whatever you have recently installed and see if it works again but if it was a Windows Patch most likely you will not be able to uninstall the thing so your only option would be to buy a newer version of that application.

A lot of MS Patches plug holes that some programs take advantage of and prevents them from running after the patch has been installed.

If the entire program has disappeared from the computer then something has happened and the most likely thing is that someone has uninstall-ed the program so you'll have to reinstall it and go from there.

If the program is still there and not working there is another possibility someone has uninstall ed a program and chosen the "Remove Shared Files" option which has removed something critical to the working of this program so it will have to be reinstalled.

Sorry if that doesn't help but without more information I really can not offer any further advice.

This only happens when you are trying to copy a copy of a copywrited audio or data most likely xp disabled the audio portion, where you can still use the CDDVD drive but the sound wont be able to play.
