I have an AMD Dual Bios 3200+ with 2Gig memory and 2 Dvd drives. I have recently had problems with their Icons. Only one icon showed in My Computer. I found one drive had the wide ribbon connector loose, so I reconnected it, but this caused me to lose both Icons from My Computer. When I disconnected the drive again, one Icon was again showing in My Computer. Both drives show in Device Manager and both show working O.K. Can anyone please tell me where I have gone wrong and how can I resolve this problem? The machine worked O.K.some weeks ago. I have reinstalled windows xp pro as I had trouble with the sound, I have cured the sound problem but not the Dvd problem. I restarted the machine after each connection and disconnection. The only thing I have not tried is to uninstall the Dvd from Device Manager and try to reinstall it. Would this help? Regards Lionel Jones.
