By eddiemonr ·
How do I install a DVD Rom in a computer with 2 CD Roms? My PC doesn't recognize the installation.

You can have up to 2 IDE drives per controller. If you have 2 CD roms and 2 hard disks, you system is full.

How many hard disks do you have?

Hi,

Purchase and install and ATA IDE interface card. This will give you extra IDE ports. Usually come complete with cables.
Make sure your power supply can support all the drives.

In case you have room for one more IDE device (aka you have 2 CD-Roms and only ONE hard drive) make sure you set the jumpers to Master or Slave.

You shouls set them as follow:

Primary Master: hard drive with OS
Primary Slave: CD-ROM
Secondary Master: DVD-ROM
Secondary Slave: CD-ROM

BTW, you are aware that the DVD-ROM drive can read CD-ROM as well?? Why do u need 3 optical drives??
