My Nec 5700A DVD-rom used to read CD-r and cd-rw disks I burned (as long as they were finalized). Now it spins up, but cannot read any cd-r, regardless of brand of media. It will still read commercially pressed CD or DVD. The drive is 3 yrs old. Hardware or software problem? Can the laser “go bad” ?
