DVD Writer

When you create a data dvd with a dvd writer, can you read the data from a cd-rom? I want to
store my data on a dvd because it holds alot more data.

No you need a DVD reader. The light spectrum used by a DVD is different from a CD or CD-RW

you need a dvd compatable reader to read a DVD+/- r/rw

I agree with the other responces, but with this addition, say perhaps you are using a program like easy cd creater (roixo) and you creat a data dvd, sometimes you have options of closing that disc or leaving it open, lets say you have another dvd reader in another computer, unless that disc is closed, that other dvd reader will not read that disc, unless it to is a burner and it had the same program on that comp..
