Hi! Guys, im just asking if, thiers any application or a program can convert dynamic ip addres to static ip address? or it is possible?

It would help us answer you if you can elaborate on wht u r trying to do. Are you using DHCP and want to now revert to using static IPs?

As Ashish stated, you need to be clear, however, you can easily change from dynamic to static just by changing the local IP address when you right-click Network Neighbourhood.

You can have a static IP for any machine either by what the last posts have said or maybe your thinking of asigning an IP from a DHCP server that could be effectively called a Dynamic ip.

All you have to do is create a Reservation within your scope and this machine will have the same IP allocated each time you boot and renew IP which as i said could be looked at as static!

If this aint what you wanted to hear post back with more info on what exactly you want to achieve

Are you being assigned an IP address via external means for which you have no control? There are companies that offer Dynamic DNS, which basically will associate your DNS name with whatever dynamic IP address you have. Check out:

www.technopagan.org/dynamic
