E-commerce Projects

by Osirius In reply to E-commerce Projects

In order for any one of us to help you, I think we need a little more detail, such as:

Is it a B2B (business-business) or a B2C (business-consumer) project.

Are you doing (or planning) it for your own organization or are you an e-commerce developer/solutions provider?

Are you a CSP (commerce service provider), meaning you provide (hosted) commerce solutions to others?

The basic project management will still be required. As far as managing an e-Commerce project, you will need to have an idea the kind of items need to be consider for your project and put them on the plan just like any other implementation that youhave done before. I assume you will get the right technical and functional resources to help you identifying the steps you will need (i.e infrastructure you will need for B2B or B2C site, the software selection phase (unless you have one already), middleware to use if they are needed, the web designer or creativity staff you need...). Among those experts, you will come up with a good project plan. One thing to note is that as e_commerce is being deployed, don't forget your business process and operations to accomodate the flood of transactions through the internet.

I would like to add to this question.
I am writing a business book with software to
be provided with this book.
1. This product would be B2B and also B2C
( the customer would be the end-user and not
a reseller)
2. This would be for my own organization.
3. I would not be hosting my own web site for now.
.......
Several Questions:
I haven't did an extensive search of all
alternatives for e-commerce.
Nor have I done an extensive search for all
web page programs.
1.If I have an entry-level web site, just to
get me up and running...
Such as ,
a.Front Page with a e-commerce add-on progam.
b.Hot Metal Pro with an add-on e-commerce
2. How would B2B or B2C , down load my book
and/ or software?
3. Would I have to e-mail with a secret
place on my web site, then change name
probably daily?
Then they would re-open their e-mail program ,
Then they would re-entry my site?
4. I realize none of these programs have
a data-base capability.
5. Or is there a easier programand method.

Thank
