E:\ is not accesible. Inncorrect funtion

I am having problems accessing a Sony Mavica Pocket CD digital camera via USB. The computer read the drive perfectly last week, now when clicking the E:\ icon I receive the infamous “E:\ is not accesible. Inncorrect function” window. Now the computer doesn’t recognize a burnt CD but will read a driver, or any other disk, just fine. Nothing has changed since then. I am running this in Windows 2000 service pack 4. Device Manager recognizes the drive as a Sony Mavica camera and says the device is “working properly.” The safely unplug device option recognizes it as the camera. I have checked the “Enable CD recording on this drive.” I have installed and uninstalled the Sony driver I don’t how many times. I have rebooted with the device plugged in. But to no avail. However, I had previously installed a plug n’ play floppy drive that reads perfectly fine.

Does anyone know the exact symptom that initiates the error within the windows programing?
