I have a problem with e-mail addresses on our Exchange Server. We are running ver 5.5 SP3 on NT 4.0 SP6a with IMAP enabled and POP3 disabled. The host name of the Exchange Server is ?emsrvr?. The domain name is verti.edu, therefore e-mail addresses are username@verti.edu . However, when we create a mailbox we have to edit the SMTP e-mail address to username@emsrvr.verti.edu . Otherwise users do not receive their e-mail although they can send e-mail if the SMTP address is username@verti.edu . Routing is set to reroute incoming SMTP mail to our domain. On Connections tab, Message Delivery is set to use DNS. Address Space address is *. Microsoft has confirmed that these settings are correct and they haven?t been able to help me with this. Editing the e-mail address is not a big deal since we are a small company but this also affects membership on listserv mailing lists. Users cannot post to these lists unless I change their SMTP address back to username@verti.edu . Then, after they post, I have to change it back so that it once again contains the host name of the server. If anyone has any idea what may be causing this problem, I?d appreciate your help. Thanks.
