      Hi,

Your administrator has blocked the facility of out-going e-mails. Ask the administrator to give the access.

Assuming you have access to Exchange administrator and an account with sufficient priveleges, open the Internet Mail Service (under sitename\configuration\connections)and switch to the delivery restrictions tab. Look for accounts either specificallyallowed or denied access.

        Joe@bloggs.com on 06/12/2000 12:08
The recipient name is not recognized
The MTS-ID of the original message is :c=US:a=;p=AMT;)=AMTso1-001206120719z-225
        MSEXCH:IMS:AMT:AMTSO1:AMTSO1 3550 (000B099C) 550RELAYING TO prohibited by administrator.

I agree with GLM – just checked it on my exchange server! either that or IMS is screwed – check under control panel – services – ‘Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service’ to see if it has been started.

I’ve just had a quick scout around technet and the search for the words ‘relay prohibited error 550’ threw up ‘Q256856 Error 550 relaying is prohibited for all messages’

have a look at that and see if that sheds any light on your query…

      cheers
      john.

p.s. sorry to post another answer but this damned forum won’t let me post another comment!
