e-mail with viruses

By oded ·
Sorry to put this here. I cannot find another way to contact techrepublic. This is rather important.

7th Sept 2004, I just got an e-mail from:
fixit@techrepublic.com
with a virus:
Worm.SomeFool.P
It got blocked by my ISP. So I am not in trouble.

Please inform the relevant people that maybe somebody is misusing the good name of your company, or someone in your system has an infected PC.

Yours,
Dr. O. Szpiro C.Eng., SMIEEE
I. T. Manager

I'm sure your concern is appreciated, but most likely that's just the usual case nowdays - an email with spoofed originating address

Email spoofing is where a virus infected machine will send out email copies of itself using the addresses found in the infected computer.

It takes one of those addresses and uses it as the sent from address.

Keep your antivirus updated on a daily basis.
