It appears that my filing system is not in alphabetic order so when I want to file an e-mail message for future ref It takes me a long time to find the file. Is here some way to put the files in proper sequence.

By filing, do you mean archiving an email in the Archive folder of Outlook 2003, or just saving the email as a file in a folder in the file system of Windows XP?
In either case, if you click the heading of a column like Sent, Received, Subject, Sender in Outlook or Date Modified in Windows Explorer, the items in the folder get sorted in ascending or descending order, depending on the number of times you click the heading.
I would suggest you checkout the free tool known as "Lookout" It allows you to search for items in Outlook as well as any other folders you identify. It can also look through the contents of the document/email if you wish.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
