I tried setting up my friends wireless router thinking it would be as easy as mine,but have not had any luck.
Here are the hardware details…
Service: Earthlink DSL
Modem: ZyXEL 660R-61 (leased from Earthlink)
Router: AirLink101 AR430W Super G Wireless
What I’ve already tried…
I switched the modem to Bridge mode.
Went through the AirLink setup with no luck.
Talked to Earthlink on behalf of my friend, but when they found out that it was not one of their routers they refused to help me and tried to lease us a router.
Regular “wired” DSL is fine while the PC is connected directly to modem, but as soon as it’s switched o the router it’s a no-go. I can’t even get to the WiFi setup because the router won’t even work wired.
Does Earthlink have proprietary equipment? I am really stumped on this one. Hopefully someone knows what I’m missing or at least knows why it won’t work.
