easy log on dial-up networking question

By nook ·
This is probably an easy dumb question, but here goes...

When my Win2k dial-up clients log on to Microsoft network, they have to check the 'log on using dial-up connection' box every time.

How do I set this option as the default, so they don'thave to check this during every log on?

easy log on dial-up networking question

You have to edit the registry.
Find the following key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon,
and add the value:
Value Name: RasForce Data Type: REG_SZ Value: 1.
Just check article number 172125 in Microsoft's Knowledge Base for a complete description of this.
(The article also warns that you won't be able to logon to the machine at all if the remote network is down.)
