Easy question

By CurtisInterruptus ·
I know there is a registry hack for this, but cannot find it. I have a need to change the CMD window default path in Windows 2000. So that everytime you open the CMD window it always has the same path.

Might be an easier way, but you can right click CMD.EXE in the System 32 folder and create a shortcut that starts in the directory you want.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\AutoRun
Double click the AutoRun key and add the path where you want CMD to point to: for example, if you want your CMD to always open at C drive, then just place "C:" (without quotes) in the text box.
