ECS K7VMA mobo AGP video vs onboard vid

by putergurl . Updated 23 years, 6 months ago

I am using an ECS K7VMA motherboard that I previously installed using the S3 Savage onboard video card and driver in W98.
I would now like to use an Nvidia video card in the AGP slot provided on the motherboard. I can find no way to disable this onboard video in the BIOS or through the OS. All attempts to uninstall the S3 drivers and get the OS to recognize the AGP card have failed. Running the NVidia Detonator Driver installation results in an error message stating there was no NVidia card detected.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Would reinstalling W98 do the trick?
The ECS website offers no help on this particular issue, but in its forums I can see this is a common problem.
