Edible Software

By amber68lbc ·
Hello,
My company is planning on using Edible Software from Solid Software, a company in TX. I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this software and/or the company's products. We think it's very complicated and seems to have the same info in different formats thruout the program. They also are recommending that we don't run our current system parrallel when we first start their program?
That to me sounds crazy to intrusts our livelyhood in a new product we know little about.
Any info will help out.
Thanks
A

If

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... it is a duck.

Go with your intuition on this. If you think something is rotten in Denmark, it probably is.

Evaluations

by JamesRL In reply to Edible Software

Before you even start looking for new software you need to define what you are looking for.

You can start with your existing software - what does it do that you like, what do you need it to do, what would you like it to do.

Put your needs (requirements) into a spreadsheet. Some of them will be musts/others may be nice to haves.

Then go to the market and see whats out there. See some demos, but try not to change your original criteria after seeing something new, unless you made an omission.

Evaluate each potential solution against your requirements, and your current solution.

Running parrallel has pluses and minuses - it is a way to verify the new system work (comparing balances for example) but it means you may not transition as quickly and you will have data on two systems that at some point needs to be reconciled. When my company installs at a new client, we generally start on day one with the new system, but we leave the old system for archive purposes.

Alternative Software

by Waudware In reply to Edible Software

Hello,
I just saw this posting from June. I work for Waudware Incorporated. We are a competitor of Edible. If it isn't too late, I would appreciate an opportunity to speak with you, and potentially show you our software.
Thank you

I keep looking at 'Edible software' and thinking, "What will they come up with next?"

That zombie dredger-upper should have let this one alone...
