SATA drive set up. It will work great with ATA, even SCSI, but 'had' a problem with those SATAs there is a fix for it. (quite quick, not like some other...) Go to the Open SuSE site. (gi'me a min. I'll find it, & be right back) -d

Don't give up..

You could try the KDE desk-top GUI (it's SuSEs favorite) instead of the Gnome. Or- re-boot with the CD / DVD and use YAST (from the CD/DVD) to get the latest 'fix-it'. Oh, When you re-booted, was the CD/DVD still in?

Sounds good

by dawgit In reply to Edited out

and you've already got a 'tip' for others. Not bad, I'd say. There also, 'might' be an issue with the graphic card, SuSE also has a favorite there too, NVida, but, not to worry, I think we got over that, and it doesn't seem to be as big an issue as it was. (and since AMD now owns ATI, it won't happen in the future)

Southern slang?

by NickNielsen In reply to :D weeeee,

Can't be as bad as the G.I.s that used to go to Munich and expect to hear German spoken with a Southern accent. I can hear it now:

"Was trinken sie, ya'll?" :^0

ATI drivers

by jmgarvin In reply to Edited out

You might need to go to the ATI site and get the drivers for your card. I'm pretty sure it is supported.

Anyway, make sure you have the uninstall directions handy as you may break X (not a big deal, more of a pain in the ***)

Good luck.
