First try to find out if baud rates match…
Use minicom or kermit to try to access the modem
(if it HAYES compatible…) enter AT
      It should respond with OK
If not it can be garbage (wrong baudrate)
or nothing.. (also wrong baudrate, or maybe the
modem was told to not echt and not shouw result
codes….) please consult your manual for the
exact commands needed to reset those..
Hayes: ATE1 or ATE0 should configure echo.

      kind regards,
      Nico

Because the interface is dropped when you stop
the driver the modem might execute all
        outstanding commands. …

        the baud rate is 9600
        iam using Siemens M20 modem
Why the ./eFoneSerial stops by itself?

Is there Nothing else in logfiles?
Then maybe have the loglevel set to debug messages
will show more. By default it seems to log only errors.. (LVL=LOG_DEBUG setting)

It stopps probably because the output from the SiemensM20 was not what it expected…
      DEBUGGING info might show more.

      Have you seen these manuals?
