EFS with W2K and XP

With a windows 2000 server and XP desktop is it possible to have group-wide encryption using EFS.
eg. if I have EFS in a W2K server and 5 users in a group, can they share encrypted files. Furthermore how can the encryption be replicated on a backuptape?
