Ejecting Hard Drives and Flash Drives ...

Is it safe to keep my Hard Drives and Flash Drives always connected, even when shutting down, or should I use the Eject feature to safely remove all external drives … ?

No it is not safe particuarly the HDD's

They generate heat when in use so leaving them plugged in and running heats them up. At one place I actually got a first degre burn off a HDD Enclosure.

The biggest killer of HDD's is heat and vibrations so you should not have them running when you are not using them.

As for Flash Drives as there are no moving parts in them it is not as important but even still you should dismount them when not in use if nothing else they are costing you more money in electricity leaving them plugged in and most likely causing them to fail when not in use and powered up.

better put off HDD, it will be more safety
