Electronic Tolling Technology

By dougdrury ·
Hi Thomas

I am doing some independent research (kind of for an academic paper) on the fleet tracking environments in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, the US and Canada. I am mainly looking at the competitive nature of the industry, and who the big 5 or 6 players are in each country.

Can you please help me with some of the question surrounding this area or pint me in the right direction? There is so much rubbish out there!!

I need to have a clear, simple english explanation of what technologies are involved in each of the various systems and which countries adopt them.

If you can tell me, I'd also love to know how the major competitors are in each of the above markets.

I look forward to hearing from you and would like to thank you for your valuable time in advance.

Best regards,

Doug

Doug:
You might want to try the following links:

http://www.itsa.org/

These are toll related systems but might have some general background.

Amtech used to be a big player in the transponder market- they were bought out by Transcore.

Another big player in the field is Mark Iv

Good luck
