I am connecting to a remote Win2003 server using RDP on a XP Pro SP2 computer. After initially logging on, I would like to be able to minimize the Remote Desktop without having to logon again when restoring it. Currently I cannot minimize the Remote Desktop without having a logon screen appear when I do try to maximize it again.
I have ensured that the screen saver “On resume, password protect” check box is empty on both the local workstation and the remote server. I did that because the same logon request occurs after the screen saver kicks in. I am not concerned with having my screen saver password protected so it is no big deal that it has been disabled. But the logon dialogue box only appears after the screen saver, when the Remote Desktop is connected and not when it is disconnected.
The RDP was configured with the save password option selected.
Are there some group policies or other settings I need to change?
