Is there any software utility known to man that would enable a user to log onto email while either on the network or via Dial Up Networking, click on a hyperlink that points to a document or file, and automatically save it to the user's hard drive for access while offline? Our CIO wants to get his most current mail, log off, get on a plane and work off line while still having access to a document sent via hyperlink. The hyperlinked document will either reside on a FTP server or in a Public Folder which once the person is offline will no longer have access to.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this? We suggested that he pick the most important emailed attachments, download them while online, and then work offline in Outlook.

From what you are describing, I'm not sure what the problem is. While he is online, he can click on the links and save them to his hard drive. Then he can look at them later. When he's offline, the links in the emails are useless, but he can access the files from his hard drive.
If you are trying to keep the files accessable from the emails while he is offline, you need to send attachments rather than hyperlinks.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
