Email entire global address list

Does anyone know the easiest way to email the entire global list on the exchange server. As an administrator, I want to send updated emails to all users.

THANKS

Our global address book has an All users distribution list which will send to everyone in the global address book.

You can also click on the first person in your global list, hold your shift key, scroll to the bottom of the list and click the last person. This should select all the names. Then click the arrow that puts them in the To box and it will put them all in.

Personally, I like the idea of investing the time to create an All Users distribution list. If you already have distribution lists set up by department, you can create an All Users list by just making a list of those lists.

The problem with sending something to the whole Global Address List is that there are usually many entries that aren't individual mailboxes (e.g. rooms, service account mailboxes, system notification mailboxes, distribution lists, etc.). The annoyance level can get quite high when these mailboxes have to deal with global mailings.

Just a thought....

I agree that you should use an All <Company> DL. Things to do is to not include any resources, or custom recepiants you don't want to receive these.
What I would add is then to lock down the DL, so only a specific group of people can email using the All <Company> DL. This way not everyone can mass mail in the organization (or least do it by selecting one address book entry).

Here is what I like to do when it comes to DLs...
Create Department Distrbution Lists and add users only.
Create Site DLs and add department DLs to it.
Create Whole_Company DL and add Site DLs to it.
Do not add any resources to any of the DLs atall.
This should help you manage users, DLs, and resources easily. HTH
