Email merge with attach. - VB template

By steve.doig ·
G'Day Folks,

I have ~200 email addresses that a standard letter and personalised schedule need to be sent to.

I want to create a template that will match the email's nickname (eg JSmith) with JSmith.txt containing the schedule.

Can I make Outlook or similar send this 'welcome' email to all contacts in an non-standard address book and attach the txt file according to the email's nickname?

Any suggestions that produce a good result are welcome.

I'd prefer not to use a database at this stage, but will do so if abs necessary.

Cheers and regards,

Steve Doig

There are a couple of solutions for your project. Here is a location that discusses alternatives depending on your version of Outlook and/or Word.

Here are acouple of more ideas:

Word is a great app for this purpose. You can not only use Outlook as a address source, but you can also use If..Then statements to either include files or AutoText.

I found the resources above to be interesting, but didn't immediately solve my problem. If I could, I'd give you half marks for the information.
