We currently undergoing PC upgrades that are using the Win2000 OS. We use a UNIX file server which also utilizes SAMBA in order for the PC’s to talk back to the UNIX files server. In the past we had to edit the registry of PC’s that had Win95 as the OS and they were able to talk to the UNIX file server. The part that had be edited was under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and under the folder named VxD we would select DWORD value and rename to EnablePainTextPassword. Where in the Win2000 registry do I EnablePalinTextPassword so that I can see our UNIX file server. Thank you for the help.
