The situation:
We are a credit union, planning to have our ISP host our primary web site. There will be a hyperlink to our home banking server which is in-house. We have a Verisgn certificate for the home banking server. Our ISP does a wonderfuljob providing us e-mail services so I don’t have to fuss with an Exchange server in-house. They do not, however, provide for encrypted email.
The question:
In this environment, could one provide for encrypted email? That is, the customer accesses a page on our web site and completes a form or clicks on an email hyperlink to send us email. Is there a way to allow this information to be encrypted? What would our web design people need to do? Woul I need to purchase an additional certificate for the site on the ISP’s server?
